Lloyd Loom chairs and armchairs
Lloyd Loom chairs are truly extraordinary: both highly functional and truly beautiful. Lloyd Loom chairs, which are made of paper, were first produced in Great Britain at the beginning of the 20th century using the process patented by M.B. Lloyd. Since then, Lloyd Loom chairs have become increasingly popular and are now famous throughout the world. Older chairs are particularly sought after and are only available in antique shops, often commanding extremely high prices. GO IN has been manufacturing Lloyd Loom chairs for more than 16 years and owns the trademark rights for this exceptional furniture. The tradition and the legendary renown of M.B. Lloyd is kept alive in our Lusty Lloyd Loom Original range. Lloyd Loom chairs and tables are manufactured by expert craftsmen out of a wire weave covered in so-called kraft paper over a robust wooden frame. If treated with care, these items of furniture can last for decades.
Lloyd Loom chairs - ideal patio furniture
Lloyd Loom chairs can also be used outside as long as they can be covered over when not in use. For use in a restaurant or hotel setting, all untreated chairs must first be varnished to protect them from damage by water, humidity, dust and dirt. Lloyd Loom chairs come in a wide range of colours! Please note that despite using colours from the RAL colour space system variations in tone can occur. If you are using your Lloyd Loom Original chairs for gastronomical purposes (i.e. in restaurants, bars, hotels, etc.) they may be susceptible to small dents or other damage. We will be happy to provide you with adequate paint to repair minor damages at no extra charge. Not only are Lloyd Loom chairs comfortable but they are also quite strong. However, it is not advisable to sit on their armrests because these are not designed for this purpose. The foremost advantage of Lloyd Loom chairs in comparison with wicker or rattan chairs is the fact that there is no risk of damage to clothes or stockings caused by irregularities of frame or seat. Moreover, the frame or a Lloyd Loom chair is very solidly built so there are no creaking or crunching noises as you sit down. Finally, the woven seat is very comfortable since it adjusts itself to the weight of the person sitting in the chair. Lloyd Loom chairs are available in the following material combinations:
- Rattan and Loom wickerwork
- Hardwood and Loom wickerwork
- Beech and Loom wickerwork
- Rattan, teak and Loom wickerwork
The following items of furniture are available:
- Lloyd Loom chairs
- Lloyd Loom armchairs
- Lloyd Loom stools
- Lloyd Loom barstools
- Lloyd Loom tables
What style of restaurant decor is most suitable for Lloyd Loom furniture?
Lloyd Loom furniture goes very well with a Mediterranean atmosphere, such as Italian restaurants and pizzerias. It fits equally well with the open and lifestyle-oriented atmosphere of lounges and designer hotels. And last but not least, Lloyd Loom chairs are a perfect match for both a tasteful English country house look and any kind of patio or winter garden. Please note that Lloyd Loom furniture should only be used as patio furniture if it can be well protected in winter and kept under cover. If well looked after, this furniture will last for many years in a restaurant setting. Lloyd Loom chairs rose to fame as a result of their outstanding design. This indicates the importance of good product design - but what does that actually mean? Design is all about the products that we take for granted in our surroundings. Today it is normal for manufacturers to employ designers to make their products as attractive as possible. At the beginning of the twentieth century this was not automatic, which is why the design achievements of the American Marshall Burns Lloyd was so outstanding. His name will be eternally linked to Lloyd Loom chairs and armchairs.
