Hostelry of 2017: the brewery style combines tradition and modernity

Landsberg am Lech - It is possible to be extremely cosy without being fusty and bourgeois. This is demonstrated by the brewery style which is still fashionable in 2017: dark wooden furniture, solid tables generally with light tabletops and a few, specifically selected accessories such as white straight candles in simple candlesticks or – even better – old ceramic bottles, discreet flower arrangements, cutlery on the tables in rustic jars. The brewery style brings back memories of a hostelry way back when. It has been revived by craft breweries which have been springing up on a large scale for some years now. Result: it is not only here that the rustic hostelry interior design style is celebrating a comeback with a new interpretation.

The brewery style

On the whole, the look can be solid and dignified, but the individual elements should not be rough or clunky. Spoke-back chairs are perfect in any brewery ambience, as are linear benches without backrests or table and bench combinations. Their traditional style can be perfectly combined with modern elements. When creating ambience, a play of contrasts should be considered – in the designs and in the colours. The options range from delicate-looking chairs with a rod back to chairs with turned legs to classic brewery chairs in white. Upholstered chairs, additional cushions or felt pads provide enhanced comfort and a warm look. A few, deliberate light elements emphasise the features of the predominantly dark wooden furniture and wall panelling.

Hevea: the new wood

In their choice of furniture, hotel or restaurant owners should primarily pay attention to the product characteristics, as well as the appearance. The furniture should be easy to maintain, robust and stackable, if possible. Chairs, which you can put with seating surface on the tables, so that the floor can get cleaned every day, provide an advantage. Resilient material and perfect workmanship are important, so that the furniture subject to heavy wear stays attractive for a long time. The new chairs made of hevea wood available at GO IN are almost indestructible. Thanks to its light, warm colour and fine grain, it can be stained in different shades. Due to its high density, it is not very susceptible to fluctuations in humidity and is, therefore, very robust. The material density and hardness of the wood which originally comes from South Africa are comparable with that of oak. It is increasingly on the rise in furniture making in Europe.

GO IN offers new chairs with brewery look in various designs: from Windsor chair with rod back to spoke-back chairs and brewery chairs with backrests reminiscent of art nouveau shapes and turned legs.

Established models in the GO IN portfolio are the classic brewery chairs made of beech, available in natural and dark wood tones. Appropriate round or square bar stools add the finishing touch to the ambience, as guests would also like to sit at the bar even when in a brewery. A good option are the high tables in combination with bar stools. They can create a relaxing atmosphere by bringing about another level in the room.
